Works on Paper: Victoria Ryan

As an observer of the world and an artist who paints primarily landscapes from the origin which I live - pastoral and rural suburban California, my elementary concern is to extract and record the subtle brilliance that vibrates within the visual components of whatever it is I am chronicling.  There is a natural attraction to this when one is constantly bathed in the powerful light of California.  The challenge I create for myself is to push the envelope a little further to the level of vibration that is perceived and felt only occasionally in moments of transcendence of the long anticipated but rarely experienced lucid dream.  This is where I go when I draw and paint.. Where our world is but a mirror of an inexplicably extraordinary place that exists somewhere else and everywhere at the same time.
